Lost in Translation
Another of my current hobbies is viewing and collecting DVD's of Anime series. Personal favorites include (in no particular order):

Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex (1st and 2nd Gig)
When looking for a new series to watch, I look for good production quality, interesting characters and complex plots often lacking in American animation. It is interesting as well to try and experience some of the conventions of these programs, which often differ from ours here. Also, I sometimes like to watch both dubbed and subtitled to see where the translation is different. Good for a laugh once in a while... Someday, I should learn Japanese.

Funny - I thought the tough-ass, good-looking female characters in skin-tight costume had something to do with it . . . .

But only well drawn tough-ass, good-looking females with some character...
